Grade Use
Normally, I view my grades:
- Every few days
- After every assignment
- After major assignments/exams/projects
- At the end of the semester
Normally, when I view my grades, I am most interested in knowing:
How I performed on a single assignment
- Strongly agree
- Agree
- Neutral
- Disagree
- Strongly disagree
How I am performing on an assignment type (homework, projects, tests,...)
- Strongly agree
- Agree
- Neutral
- Disagree
- Strongly disagree
How I am performing overall
- Strongly agree
- Agree
- Neutral
- Disagree
- Strongly disagree
Normally, when I view my grades, I am most interested in knowing:
How I did in relation to the grading scale (Is it an A? B? ...)
- Strongly agree
- Agree
- Neutral
- Disagree
- Strongly disagree
How I did in relation to the class (Above average, Average, Below average)
- Strongly agree
- Agree
- Neutral
- Disagree
- Strongly disagree
Normally, when I view my grades, I am more focused on: (separate this?)
- How I have performed so far on my assignments
- What I need to score on future assignments to achieve a certain grade
- What assignments I have left to complete or have missed.
Repeat last three for After major assignments, and At the end of the semester (?)
Graphs
For the bar graph that displays overall grade information,
The graph's location:
- Is in the right place, on the main grades page
- Should be moved to (or also displayed on) the main page for the class, so it is more prominent
- Should be moved to (or also displayed on) the grade category page, so that there is an overview available on that page
- Should not be used at all
The graph was easy to understand and use
- Strongly agree
- Agree
- Neutral
- Disagree
- Strongly disagree
The graph allowed me to understand (check all that apply)
- My current standing in the class
- My current standing relative to others in my class
- My areas of strengths and weaknesses
- What grade I am likely to receive in the class
- The importance of different assignments
The graph would be most useful to me:
- During the entire semester
- During the last half of the semester
- During the last few weeks of the semester
- Off and on during the semester (like near major assignments/exams/projects)
- It is never that useful
Additional Comments
Repeat for star graph, category bar graph, assignment histogram
