Some new things to look at
4 June 2013 - 4:05pm
We have initial prototypes for a number of new features for OpenDSA developers.
- Our first examples of "more visual" content. This means using slideshows as much as possible to directly relate explanatory text to something visual. See http://algoviz.org/OpenDSA/dev/OpenDSA/Books/ListViz, in particular the modules on array-based and linked lists.
- Pretty-printed code. The code in those same modules now uses color highlighting. We are using the "pygments" package to do this.
- Our first experiments with creating "coursenote slides" to help with lecture presentations. See: http://algoviz.org/OpenDSA/dev/OpenDSA/Books/slides/html/InsertionSort.html#1. We are integrating our AVs and other support infrastructure with the Sphinx hieroglyph slide package.
(Note that these URLs might change if you are reading this message awhile after I make this post. But if you go to http://algoviz.org/OpenDSA/dev/OpenDSA/Books, you should still be able to find examples of books with these features.)
